Sign up for a rental account

Click here to start setting up your rental account.

You can also create an account or access your existing account by clicking on the person icon in the top right corner of the browser or go to Account in the menu bar.

Follow the instructions for account set-up and verify your email. If you have an existing in-store rental account, please be sure to check the "I have an account with Scarecrow" box when creating your web account. Scarecrow staff will personally review your request and approve your account. This may take 1-2 business days. We will email you when your account is approved so you can start renting!

Dive into the Library

Browse or Search the Library for the titles you would like to rent.

Each copy of a title has its own listing. Click on the Rent By Mail button to add it to your cart. (Note: you must be signed in to your account in order to add titles to your cart.)

Double check the format (Blu-ray, DVD, 4K, etc) and region code to make sure that it is compatible with your player. Find more details about format and region restrictions on our Rental Info page.

Check Out

Once you check out, your titles will be entered into our reservation system and Scarecrow's staff will find your movies and prepare them for mailing. Your card will not be charged until your titles are shipped. An email receipt will be sent at that time.

Watch and Return

Enjoy your selections and return them in the included pre-paid envelope.

Availability

Most of the DVD & Blu-ray titles in our library are available for Rental By Mail. Titles not available are indicated by the IN STORE ONLY button.

The following items are not available for RBM:

• Rare, out of print, and irreplaceable videos that require a security deposit (we call these our Rental By Approval titles)
• VHS & laser disc formats
• New release titles, as they have a more limited rental time frame
• Adult titles

Order Limits

Up to six (6) discs may be rented per order. This is the maximum amount that our flat rate shipping envelopes can hold.

The number of discs is not the same as the number of titles. For example: “Blade Runner: Complete Collector’s Edition” is a single title but contains five (5) discs. The number of discs per title is indicated in the library listing.

Shipping & Due Dates

Shipping and handling charges are a flat $12.00 for up to six (6) discs. This amount includes round-trip postage and a pre-paid return envelope.

Rent by Mail titles have a 14 day rental window. This includes shipping time. Your rental is due back in store to us by the return date on the receipt included with your order. Late fees do apply, so please renew by phone if you need more time.
