On the water, the two men reminisce about Billy's days as the keyboardist in a Christian band and Robbie's as a guitarist for a metal band. CHAMELEON STREET (1989)

After starting a new job at a local film production company, free spirit Isabelle (Deaf to the City's Liliane Lemaître-Auger) meets animator Virginie (Jesus of Montreal's Véronique Le Flaguais) and the two become fast friends. DRYLONGSO (1998) (CRITERION)
A rediscovered treasure of 1990s DIY filmmaking, Cauleen Smith’s Drylongso embeds an incisive look at racial injustice within a lovingly handmade buddy movie/murder mystery/romance. Alarmed by the rate at which the young Black men around her are dying, brash Oakland, California, art student Pica (Toby Smith) attempts to preserve their existence in Polaroid snapshots, along the way forging a friendship with a woman in an abusive relationship (April Barnett) and experiencing love, heartbreak, and the everyday threat of violence. Capturing the vibrant community spirit of Oakland in the nineties, Smith crafts both a rare cinematic celebration of Black female creativity and a moving elegy for a generation of lost African American men. Academy Award winners Elizabeth Taylor and Spencer Tracy return in their starring roles from "Father of the Bride" in this delightful comedy of battling in-laws--Father's Little Dividend. Stanley and Ellie Banks (Tracy and Joan Bennett) have barely had time to recover from their daughter's (Taylor) wedding when they learn they are to be grandparents. GANGSTER, EL (1965)
El Gangster is a first in comedy for director, Luis Alcoriza, and great comedic performance by actor, Arturo de Córdova. Our story centers around Tony Wall, an x-gangster who was active during Chicago's prohibition period but has decided he is tired of living on the wrong side of the law. So, after paying his debt to the North American justice system and now desiring peace and tranquility, he moves back to the old country, followed by his x-criminal companions Romo, Rito, Chuck and Maggie. Taking up the mantle to rescue his deceased brother's family, he moves next to sister-in-law and widow 'Isabel, along her two nephews, Carito and Pedro. The hilarity begins when the unreceptive and resentful nephews thus proceed to make life for Tony and his companions as unpleasant and challenging as possible. (DVD)
GAY PURR-EE (1962) (WARNER ARCHIVE)
Magnificent. That's the voice of Judy Garland. Magnifique. That's Gay Purr-ee, a charming animated musical featuring the great Garland in one of her final roles. She's the singing and speaking voice of Mewsette, a French country cat who runs off to Paris during the Gay '90s. From the UPA studios who brought us Mr. Magoo comes "Gay Purr-ee," a stylish and sophisticated animated musical about a group of cats in Paris, France. Robert Goulet voices the object of Mewsette's affection Jaune Tom, with comedic support from Red Buttons as Robespierre. The clever script was devised by animation master Chuck Jones and his wife, Dorothy. The terrific score is by Harold Arlen and E.Y, Harburg, reuniting Garland with the gents who created the songs for "The Wizard of Oz". Gay Purr-ee is grand entertainment for audiences of all ages. SOLDADERA, LA (1966)
A simple country girl named, Lazara, is caught up in the Mexican Revolution, when her new husband, Juan, is forced to join the federal army on the eve of their Honeymoon. Refusing to be separated from Juan, she chooses to follow him, traveling with the troops. When Juan dies in battle against the Villistas, Lazara, is forced to change her allegiance to the winning side. Wanting security and a home of her own, she takes up with the Villista general, Nicolás, who she marry's and bears his child, only to have him killed in a battle with the Carrancistas. Still hoping to seize her dream of a home, she takes up with yet another man on the winning side, only to find as the war carries on, she is condemned to live as a vagabond. (DVD)
SPANISH DANCER (1923)
Pola Negri was already an international star. Antonio Moreno was her equal in terms of talent and sex appeal. The director Herbert Brenon was one of the greatest directors of his day and he was assisted by his cinematographer, James Wong Howe. Together, they created one of the great romance epics of the silent era. (BLU-RAY)

Elvis Presley stars as racecar driver and rock singer Mike McCoy, who is being pursued by three very determined young women. Pert, spoiled, rich Cynthia always gets what she wants, and she wants Mike ... Diana, a best-selling author doing research for her next book, The Perfect American Male, thinks he fits the title and wants him for the book--and for herself ... And sexy drummer Les hears wedding bells whenever she thinks of Mike. The screenplay follows Mike's predicament of too many beautiful women chasing him, while keeping his eye on the big race at the film's climax. Along the way, Elvis gets the opportunity to sing nine songs, with comic relief from a slew of well-known character actors.
